What Real Joy does

Real Joy is a digital-wellbeing app. It shows a pause screen before apps you choose and, optionally, measures how much time is spent in apps so you (or your family) can see it.

Data we collect

By default: nothing leaves your device. App usage (which apps are used and for how long) is stored locally.

If you connect the optional family dashboard by entering a server URL and a family token, the app sends app names and usage durations to that server. For families using our hosted dashboard, that server is operated by us and the data is visible only to holders of the family's tokens.

What we never do

• No ads, no analytics SDKs, no trackers
• No selling or sharing of data with third parties
• No collection of contacts, location, messages, or browsing content
• No accounts, emails, or passwords

Data retention & deletion

Local data is deleted by uninstalling the app. Synced family data can be deleted at any time on request to the contact below, or by the family administrator.

Children

Real Joy can be installed on a child's device by a parent as a parental-supervision tool. The data collected is limited to app usage time as described above and is visible only within the family.
